1. Usri Falls

One of the most popular picnic spots, the Usri Falls are amid the gravelly Parasnath Mountains and a dense forest that provide a naturally peaceful environment. The falls drop about 39ft in three separate streams. Tourists as well as local people are found having a great time with their families and friends, enjoying the gushing sounds of the Usri River. The river is a tributary of the Barakar River and flows as a gorge through the mountains. The Usri Falls are possibly the most sought after location in Giridih.

2. Stevenson Memorial Church

Located in the Pachamba area of Giridih, the Archibald Tempton built the Stevenson Memorial Church in 1871. He visited the region to serve the tribal areas, and established a hospital. One of the doctors, William Henderson Stevenson, is the one the church is named after. Pachamba is an ancient location that tourists are often found in, to pay a visit to the well-known church.

3. Parasnath Hills

Among the best and most beautiful locations of Giridih and Jharkhand, the Parasnath Hills are famous for their scenic environment. Madhuban is a village housing a renowned temple, which is known to be over 2000 years old. बैद्यनाथ ज्योतिर्लिंग की कथा 

Baidyanath Dham Jyotirlinga Story In Hindi and important facts. Baidyanath dham is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas In Jharkhand, India

एक बार जब रावण ने शिव तपस्या करनी शुरु किया और सालों तक तपस्या करने के बाद शिव जी ने रावण को उसकी तपस्या से प्रसन्न होकर मनोवांछित वरदान दिया |

रावण ने भगवान शिव को कैलाश पर्वत से अपने साथ लंका ले जाने की इच्छा व्यक्त किया | भगवान शिव ने खुद लंका जाने से मना कर दिया, लेकिन अपने भक्त रावण को ज्योतिर्लिंग ले जाने की सलाह दी |

साथ ही शर्त लगा दी कि इसे अगर रास्ते में कहीं धरती पर रखा, तो यह वहीं स्थापित हो जाएगा, वहां से कोई उसे उठा नहीं पाएगा|

इधर, भगवान विष्णु नहीं चाहते थे कि ज्योतिर्लिंग लंका पहुंचे |

उन्होंने गंगा माँ को रावण के पेट में समाने का अनुरोध किया |गंगा माँ जैसे ही रावण के पेट में समाई, रावण को तीव्र लघुशंका लगी |वह सोचने लगा कि किसको ज्योतिर्लिंग सौंपकर वह लघुशंका से निवृत्त हो |

उसी क्षण ग्वाले के वेश में भगवान विष्णु वहां प्रकट हुए | रावण ने ग्वाले को ज्योतिर्लिंग सौंप दिया और हिदायत दी कि जब तक वह न आए, तब तक ज्योतिर्लिंग को वह जमीन पर न रखे |

रावण लघुशंका करने लगा, गंगा माँ के प्रभाव से उसे निवृत्त होने में काफी देर लग गई | वह जब लौटा, तो ग्वाला ज्योतिर्लिंग को जमीन पर रखकर विलुप्त हो चुका था | इसके बाद रावण ने ज्योतिर्लिंग को उठाने की लाख कोशिश की, मगर सफल नहीं हो सका, उसे खाली हाथ लंका लौटना पड़ा |

बाद में सभी देवी-देवताओं ने आकर उस ज्योतिर्लिंग को विधिवत स्थापित किया और पूजा-अर्चना की |

इस ज्योतिर्लिग का नाम बैद्यनाथ कैसे पड़ा ?

काफी दिनों बाद बैजनाथ नामक एक चरवाहे को इस ज्योतिर्लिंग का दर्शन हुआ | वह प्रतिदिन इसकी पूजा करने लगा | इसी कारण इस ज्योतिर्लिग का नाम बैद्यनाथ हो गया |

बैद्यनाथ शिवलिंग कहा है ?

बारह ज्योतिर्लिंगों में से एक पवित्र बैद्यनाथ शिवलिंग झारखंड के देवघर में स्थित है | इस जगह को लोग बाबा बैजनाथ धाम के नाम से भी जानते हैं |

कहते हैं भोलेनाथ यहां आने वाले की सभी मनोकामनाएं पूरी करते हैं |इसलिए इस शिवलिंग को ‘कामना लिंग’ भी कहते हैं |

बाबा बैद्यनाथ के धाम से जुड़े महत्‍वपूर्ण तथ्‍य

  1. बाबा बैद्यनाथ का धाम भगवान शिव के 12 ज्‍योतिर्लिंगों में से एक है तथा द्वादश ज्‍योतिर्लिंग स्‍तोत्र में यह पांचवें स्‍थान पर हैं।
